Experience

Rachel joined the firm as a trainee in June 2009, during which year she also concluded her LL.D. course at the University of Malta after submitting her thesis entitled "The Liability of the Trustee". She became a junior associate of the firm in 2010.

In September 2010 Rachel embarked on a LL.M. in International Financial Law, where she studied International Financial Law, Financial Services and Products Financial Risk Financial Stability and the Principles of Financial Regulation, International and Comparative and Trust Law. She submitted her dissertation entitled “The draft Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive: where are we now and how would European centres of excellence in the financial services industry be effected?”.

Since her return to the firm in September 2011, she has been actively involved in corporate finance, both locally and internationally, the re-domiciliation of funds, matters relating to investment service providers as well as the setting up of trusts and foundations in Malta.

Rachel’s main areas of interest are trust, financial and corporate law.
