The Investment Services Act was enacted in 1994, and, together with related legislation intended to promote Malta as an international financial centre, until recently required to be brought in line with the Investments Services Directive (later replaced by the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive) and the requirements prescribed in terms of the Financial Services Action Plan. In view of Camilleri Preziosi’s long-standing involvement in the investment services field, we were invited in 2002 by the Malta Financial Services Authority to contribute to the review and updating of the 1994 Investment Services Act.
