Camilleri Preziosi, the commercial and corporate law firm with offices in Valletta, has announced that Laragh Cassar and Marisa Azzopardi will join Louis de Gabriele and Henri Mizzi as partners of the firm with effect from 1 January 2010.
Marisa Azzopardi graduated LL.D in 2003, and she received her warrant to practise as an advocate in 2004. In 2005, she graduated LL.M in Commercial and Corporate Law (University of London). Marisa joined the firm in 2003 and was appointed as an associate in the Regulatory, EU & Litigation Practice Group in 2005. She was promoted to senior associate in the Litigation Unit in January 2008. A well-respected litigator, she will now be taking on even more direct responsibility for complex commercial litigation.
Laragh Cassar will be appointed partner in the Corporate & Finance Practice Group of the firm, with special responsibilities for investment services and asset management. Laragh graduated LL.D in 2002 following which she read for her LL.M in Banking and Finance (University of London) in 2003. Like Marisa, Laragh joined the firm in 2003. She was appointed as an associate in the Corporate & Finance Practice Group in 2005 and was promoted to senior associate in January of 2008. Laragh is particularly well-known in banking, investment services and capital markets, where she regularly advises clients both on an on-going basis, as well as on specific assignments.
Both appointments are the result of a continued strategy of organic growth adopted by CAMILLERI PREZIOSI over the years, a strategy aimed at fostering the core values of the firm and investing in the professional development of its people.
The appointment of new partners has also been supported by three other senior appointments within the firm. Malcolm Falzon and Donald Vella have been appointed Senior Associates in the Corporate and Finance Practice Group and Ron Galea Cavallazzi has been appointed as Senior Associate in the Regulatory, EU & Litigation Practice Group.
